Bank Abbey sells Country Finance

BANK ABBEY is selling Country Finance its rural asset finance and leasing business to ING Lease, part of Dutch banking group ING.

But the move excludes Country Finance‘s agricultural mortgages.

These will transfer to Abbey’s existing commercial mortgage business, though a spokeswoman said rural experts would still be available.

Tim Murley, Abbey‘s director of business banking and finance, said: “Our asset finance and leasing business provide us with fewer opportunities to cross-sell and build relationships with our personal customers.”
