Blackjack heifer is top at Pendavey

TOP price of 1100gns was paid for an in-milk heifer at Pendavey, Cornwall, last week, when Terence and Simon Eddy held a sale of commercial Friesians.

By Hanoverhill Blackjack, the animal went to C J Dyer, Bodmin.

An August calving heifer by Tesk made 1060gns to A Sturtridge, Callington. And 14 August calving heifers – the youngest 16-months-old – averaged £873. January served heifers made to 920gns and yearlings to 520gns.

AVERAGES: 56 cows £706; 20 served heifers £804 and 32 yearling heifers and calves £411. (R B Taylor and Sons)
