Boffins develop GM strawberry
BRITISH scientists have developed a strawberry which tastes sweeter and is better able to repel pests.
But they fear that commercial production is some ten years off because of the public concern over genetic manipulation.
The scientists at the Scottish Crop Research Institute used genes from a tropical cow pea, kiwi fruit and barley to create their strawberry.
