Booker issues profits warning

FOOD distributor Booker saw its shares collapse by a half at one stage yesterday (Tuesday) after the company said full-year profits would be around £22 million compared with £76m the preceding year.

The group is pressing ahead with a disposal programme. It is expected that the Arbor Acres poultry business in the USA should be sold fairly quickly. The Danish seeds business is also under the hammer.
