Brecon Beacons fears
FARMERS in the Brecon Beacons are hoping a second case of foot-and-mouth disease in the area does not mean the disease is widespread in animals on common land.
Sheep disease
The disease was discovered in sheep at Llwynbedw Farm, Libanus, Brecon on Wednesday (Jun 27). It follows a confirmed outbreak at Modrydd Farm, Libanus last weekend.
A full investigation is underway into why the disease has reappeared four weeks after the last confirmed case in Powys. Veterinary surgeons started blood testing a sample of the animals that roam common grazings in the area on Tuesday (June 26). *
