Brewers Broadside…
BROWN & Co have opened their account for 2001 with a 140-acre unit on the Suffolk coast. Owned by Adnams the brewers, Broadside Park Farm is named after their famous real ale which commemorates the naval defeat of the Dutch at Sole Bay in 1672.
Formerly used as a pig unit, to dispose of waste products from the brewing process, the farm features 85 acres of IACS-registered land and 48 acres of grazing marsh. There is also a 3-bedroomed bungalow with an agricultural tie attached.
An abstraction licence for 3.3m gallons of water allows for a diverse range of cropping on the well drained sandy soils, says selling agent Robert Fairey. He is asking £400,000 for the whole farm or will sell the grazing marshes separately for £75,000.
