Britain’s youngest farmer — just 14
A 14-YEAR-OLD boy who used his pocket money to buy a farm has been named Britains youngest farmer by the National Farmers Union.
Ben Wonnacott, from Milford Haven in West Wales, owns five acres of grazing, and keeps two calves, seven sheep and 16 chickens in a 50ft barn.
Bens parents are surprised by their sons love for farming, as there is no agricultural background to the family.
Ben said: “I know more about farming than some of the so-called agriculture experts in London who earn 70,000 a year and never set foot on a farm.”
The NFU is reported to have offered Ben a job when he leaves school.
