Canadian farm workers earn lowest wages

FARMWORKERS are among the lowest-paid employees in Canada, according to a federal study published yesterday.

The report showed many Canadians have suffered a drop in real earnings over the past 15 years, with average real incomes falling as much as 6% between 1990 and 1995.

The main reason seems to be that the countrys economic growth over 15 years has lagged behind its main competitors, while productivity has fallen behind the USA in the past few years.
