Case claims its new combine is best since 77

CASE launched the Axial-Flow rotary combine 23 years ago in 1977. Since then a series of modifications has ensured its continued popularity both in the UK and abroad.
For this season Case has announced what it believes to be a number of significant enhancements for the 2300 Series – enhancements which are claimed to result in the most productive, reliable and durable Axial-Flow combines ever to have been produced.
For the first time, combines will be equipped with the companys new Advanced Farming System (AFS) Universal Display Plus which contains updated yield monitor software designed to make the in-cab monitor easier to set up and operate. Features include a harvest summary screen showing field and load totals, and a customised screen which displays header height and other user defined operating information.
Memory has been increased to allow longer intervals between card downloads and a new yield monitor complete with touch screen displays on-the-move yield and moisture percentages.
For the operator, the cabs heating, ventilation and air conditioning system has been updated with automatic temperature control also now a feature.
Within the combine itself numerous changes have been made – straw and chaff spreading width has been improved, there is now a restriction on the engine speed at which the separator can be engaged, the lower grain tank delivery augers have been beefed up, and so on. In all, Case says it has made 20 design changes.
