Cheaper farm assurance

CHEAPER farm assurance is coming next year for the 2500 members of Scottish Quality Cereals.

David Houghton, SQC chairman, announced the reductions at last weeks Crops conference in Perth. A 10% reduction in basic subscription level from 2001 will bring SQC membership fees down to between £85-270, depending on farm size, he said.

In addition, there will be a 35% one-off rebate for existing members who continue their membership of SQC next year, and a further flat rate saving of £10 for those paying by direct debit.

For mixed farmers an extra 5% saving on SQC and SQBLA subscriptions will be introduced, with a full programme of joint inspections rolled out in the coming year. &#42
