Cheshire Police has produced two videos which outline ways farmers can reduce their chances of becoming victims of crime.
The first highlights how a Rural Watch scheme, with more than 200 members, is proving a success in preventing crime in rural areas.
In the second video, PC Mike Dawber of Knutsford neighbourhood policing team addresses the issues affecting farmers and residents on his rural beat and offers some crime prevention tips.
These include fitting a simple satellite tracking system to farm machines to aid their recovery if they are stolen.
Other suggestions for deterring criminals include simple measures such as putting concrete slabs at entrances and exits to stop people gaining entry.
