Cornish clotted cream makers taste victory

CORNISH clotted cream makers are expected to clinch victory today over French companies also labelling their cream as Cornish.

The dispute between French manufacturers and the French Government has made it all the way to the European Commission. They are expected to have the exclusive right to call their cream “Cornish”.

They began their fight in 1994 to have the term “Cornish” protected under the European Unions protected designation of origin system.
