Count the eggs

FAECAL egg counts may enable producers to delay worming by two weeks, which would allow costsavings.

"Producers need to submit faeces samples from 10 lambs to their local VI centre every two weeks from late April to mid-June," says Shrops sheep vet Chris Lewis.

"When the number of eggs/g of faeces exceeds 400, worming is necessary," he advises.

The VI service charge £7.50 + VAT for each combined sample tested. &#42
