THE poor state of the Russian economy and US offensive actions probably made Sterling look a safe haven on Friday and its strength, coupled with a lack of demand further forward, pushed UK futures to a lower close. The best prices are for spot movement with September wheat near Tilbury valued at £70 per tonne ex-farm – the same price as December feed wheat elsewhere.
