Dairy farmers ‘held back by tradition’


DAIRY farmers are hidebound by tradition and is in need of some imaginative thinking, according to accountants Grant Thornton.


Advisers say innovative structures of production based on contract management would help achieve economies of scale as well as opportunities for young entrants.

The advisers also suggest that many in the industry should consider joint venture agreements.
