Dairymen urge militancy on SNFU

FRUSTRATED Scottish dairy farmers are becoming increasingly critical of the National Farmers Union of Scotland.

The Scotsman reports that dairy farmers are beginning to demand the union become more militant. Several are reported as advocating the withholding of milk supplies.

Union vice-president Peter Chapman called for more pressure to be put on the Government. He warned about a supply ban: “All we do is shoot ourselves in the foot. Supermarkets would just import from Ireland.”
