Dewhurst rides out beef-bone ban

INDEPENDENT meat retailer Dewhurst shrugged off the effects of the beef-on-the-bone ban on last years figures and lifted sales by 1.6% to 53 million.

The group moved from a 341,000 loss to a 1.19m profit.

Roger Reeson, managing director, believes the consumption of meat is rising. He also believes that the ending of the beef on the bone ban has stimulated sales.

Dewhurst has just over 200 shops in the UK.
