Easier winter linseed
LIQUID suspension fertiliser could help ease the switch from spring to winter linseed, says Yorks farmer Clifford Spencer.
This autumn he plans to include Omexs Didin liquid nitrogen product, which contains a nitrification inhibitor to prolong nutrient availability.
Applying that to the seed-bed with a liquid compound should produce more crop growth going into winter and support the crop further into the spring before a top dressing is needed, reasons Mr Spencer.
That will make management easier in the spring on a farm with a large area of combinable crops. It will also mean the linseed is less tender when top dressing is applied, he adds.
