EC orders disposals in NH/Case deal
THE European Commission is imposing disposals on New Holland as the price of its acquisition of rival farm and construction equipment maker Case.
The businesses which must be sold include Cases Doncaster plant in the UK, and two of the tractor lines which are assembled there.
It must also dispose of the Fermec plant in Manchester and the Fermec brand backhoe loader.
The other products are the Case large square balers, assembled at Germanys Neustadt, and the New Holland Laverda combine harvester line, plus its associate Breganza plant in Italy.
The deal still requires approval from the US department of justice.
