EU maize tariff cut
THE European Union (EU) granted tariff cuts for 75,000 tonnes of US maize imports to Spain, breaking a months-long deadlock over genetically-modified corn.
The EUs cereals management committee agreed to accept traders bids for tariff reductions of up to Ecu73.43/ tonne for a total of 75,000 tonnes of US maize imported to Spain under a decade-old preferential trade deal.
