Famous family at front in sale

THE famous Painley Kimo family came to the fore at the first sale of pedigree Holsteins to be offered at Paisley since live sales resumed in Scotland.

Glenconner Jock, an ET-bred son of Jo-Wal Cubby Metro, is out of Painley Prelude Kimo 2nd and topped the sale at 2300gns.

Consigned by L Montgomerie, Ochiltree, Ayrshire, Jocks dam is classified VG87 and produced a heifer lactation of 11,000kg. Buyer was &#42 Foster, Galston.

A son of Etazon Celsius from R McInnes, Kilmarnock, realised 2000gns. The longevity and production of this bulls family was noted by the crowd; his dam, Aires Beatexus 166th is 10-years old and has given five lactations over 10,000kg. Buyers were R and J Kerr, Campbeltown.

Heifer trade peaked at 900gns for a daughter of Bayden Mason from Isle of Bute vendors Messrs Kennedy. (A and J Wilson and Co Ltd) &#42
