Fantastic first day for Blelack herd

NEIL Massie and Sons completed a successful opening days business at Perth by selling the top priced female at 3000gns.

One of a draft of eight cows, all in-calf to Coldstream Dominator or suckling his progeny, seven times pregnant Jayne Erica T49 of Blelack was bought by Ulster breeder D B Mairs. She is by GV Jag.

Lena Forbes from Nairn offered a selection of cows from her Lochdu herd. Most fancied from this consignment was Lochdu Cherry Bai 2nd, a TLA Northern Samurai daughter. She was in-calf with her fourth, having been inseminated to the herds King 2nd of Delmore, and later allowed to run with Blackridge of Blelack. Buyer was Somerset breeder C J Hutchings.

The Massies also collected 2500gns for Blackbird V30 of Blelack in-calf with her third. And herd-mate Blackbird R60 of Blelack, a 1992-bred cow by the imported sire Southern Ox Miner, realised 2300gns to R &#42 Qualyle, Isle of Man. (United Auctions) &#42
