Farmer dies after being run over by feed lorry

A farmer has been killed after being hit by an agricultural feed lorry outside his home in Scotland.

Cattle and sheep farmer David Moir, aged in his 60s, died after he was struck by the lorry in Cuminestown, Aberdeenshire.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended, but they could not save Mr Moir who died from his injuries at the scene.

The incident happened at 4.15pm on Sunday (14 September) on the unclassified Fyvie to Cuminestown road.

The road was closed for more than four hours to allow collision inspectors to examine the scene.

Officers have appealed for anyone who was travelling on the road shortly before the incident to come forward.
