Farmers forest

SEVEN farmers were among the 13 successful tenderers for the National Forest scheme announ-ced this week.

This is the third year tenders have been invited to establish the forest, covering an area of 200sq miles in middle England. The total area accepted this time came to 217ha (537 acres), for which £1.6m grant aid is available, paid 80% up front and 20% in five years time.
