‘Fertilisers cause cattle disease on British farms’


FERTILISERS are the cause of a mystery rash of diseases found among cattle on British farms, reports The Guardian.

Fertiliser use removes essential trace elements from acidic soils, so they no longer feature on animal diets.

Many of these trace elements, like copper and zinc, are vital for animal health and boost immunity to disease.

Ministry of Agriculture officials are currently carrying out a survey of farm husbandry practice which could provide evidence to support the theory.
