Finnie draws up rural agenda
ROSS FINNIE, the Scottish executives rural affairs minister, said yesterday he intends to put rural issues at the heart of policy making.
He explained this meant long-term issues such as jobs and transport, not short-term concerns such as a subsidy package for farmers.
He emphasised his concerns were rural rather than agricultural.
“If all we focus on is agriculture, were not going to do anything”.
There is a debate on the financial crisis in Scottish farming in the Scottish parliament tomorrow.
