Foreign fruit boosts Scots grower
A REDUCTION in overseas fruit production means good news for Scottish Soft Fruit Growers – the countrys leading raspberry growers co-operative.
Michael Thompson, managing director, is taking an optimistic outlook on prospects at the expense of the overseas producers, reports The Herald.
Mr Thompson expects better returns in the short term and is positive about the medium term outlook too.
He predicts that the European Unions seven-year development programme will continue its support for the industry.
