Fuel price rises

make their mark

LIBERAL Democrats have attacked the rise in petrol and diesel prices in the budget, saying it would affect the viability of farms and rural businesses.

Richard Livsey, party Welsh Affairs spokesman, called for an equalisation of fuel prices between urban and rural areas.

The Country Landowners Association said the increased fuel cost should have been offset for rural dwellers by either improving public transport facilities or reducing the council tax.n
