Gamekeeper cleared of badger killings

GAMEKEEPER Leslie Morris, 29, was cleared of killing badgers and other wildlife on the Dashwood Estate in West Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, yesterday.

A High Wycombe magistrate said Morris, of the Bradenham Hill shooting syndicate, had been the victim of a vendetta and there was insufficient evidence to prove he had carried out the killings.

The court had been told he recorded the killings of more than 100 badgers in a journal. However, he was fined £150 with £50 costs for keeping ammunition unsecured.
