Gamekeeper fined £4500 for poisons

A GAMEKEEPER has been fined £4500 after poisons were found at his home.

A joint operation by police and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds discovered strychnine at the home of Leonard White in Dorchester, Dorset.

Mr White, a gamekeeper on the Up Sydling estate, admitted four firearms charges and four charges involving the illegal storage of pesticides.

He was also convicted at Dorchester magistrates court of the illegal use of pesticide and possession of items capable of being used to poison wild birds.
