George Lyon elected president of Scottish NFU

The Scottish National Farmers Union elected George Lyon president on
Friday.

The new vice presidents are Peter Chapman and Jim Walker. John Cameron, John Ross, Stewart Whiteford and Adam Train were made honorary presidents by council so they can keep an eye on union finances for the next few months.

Fordyce Maxwell, in The Scotsman, says the election of the new team must be a relief to union members after months of internal turmoil.
