Getting to grips with challenges

Speaking at a Dairy Event Spotlight on Profit forum, Mr Slade will explain how the group intends to tackle challenges facing the milk sector.

“Following its early success, it now it has to move up a gear,” says Mr Slade.

The creation of several sub-groups will facilitate more detailed discussion on specific topics, working out how each sector can move forward.

“The UK has a far better grasp of CAP reform than other member states and that has to be to of benefit,” says Mr Slade.

He believes the select committee’s report was blinded by price, but despite that there is a huge opportunity for the dairy supply chain to work together.
