Grain growers can net £50,000 award

ENTERPRISING businesses using wheat, barley, oats or rye can win awards of up to £50,000 to help promote the use of UK grain.

The Home-Grown Cereals Auth- ority Enterprise Awards 2001 aim to increase the amount of cereal used by encouraging product innovation.

They are open to anyone who uses grain, and in the past few years have funded more than 75 projects across a wide range of companies.

The closing date for initial applications is Dec 31 and the winners will be announced in June 2001.
