Grain market update


Thursdays trading – 26 February 1998


Brussels:

  • Wheat: 234,500 t at Ecu19.49;

  • ACP wheat: 24,153 t at Ecu23.50;

  • Barley: 3,500  at Ecu30.50.


Thursday was a very quiet day with little trade as most awaited news from Brussels.


Chicago finished 3¢/bushel higher on speculation India may need to buy a large amount of wheat.

  • £1=DM 2.988 / FFr 10.01 / $ 1.645
  • French FOB spot wheat value: FFr 805.00 (£ 80.41)
  • Chicago December wheat at close: $ 3.21 (£ 70.24)
