Grannys video diaries entertain the children

VALERIE Wood-Graingers grandchildren live too far away from her home in Wales for her to visit them often. She keeps in touch with regular phone calls but during one of these to her grandson in America, little Kristian said: "I love you Grandma but I need to see you." Instead of this loving remark just bringing a tear to her eye, it brought an idea. She would record stories on video for her grandchildren.

Then Mrs Wood-Grainger thought perhaps other children might enjoy them too and the result is a 30min video* which is an enchanting mix of Grandma Valerie story reading in her rocking chair, very good illustrations and travelog. This video has two stories written by Sian Lewis. The first is about an environmentally friendly sheep and the scene is set for Woolly Wendy and the Snowdon Lily, with views of the highest mountain in Wales that would please the Welsh Tourist Board. The second, I saw a ship-a-sailing tells of the treasure Megan finds on a Pembrokeshire beach while staying with her Grandpa. Younger children will enjoy them both.
