Green light for anti-cholesterol Flora

EU regulators have given Unilever permission to market its Flora Pro-Activ “cholesterol-busting” spread, reports the Financial Times>.

Plans to launch in Europe had been stymied by objections over food safety from Germany and Sweden, after health scares.

But the decision by the EU standing committee on food safety means the spread can be launched throughout the EU.
