Haig under fire for attack on Brown

TORY leader William Haig is under attack for breaching a Westminster convention by criticising agriculture minister Nick Brown.

Mr Brown demanded an apology after the Tory leader accused the government of preparing to “sell out” British farmers during negotiations over the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

The Westminster convention is that the government should not face criticism when involved in such negotiations.
