FARMERS for Action chairman David Handley has denied a charge of wilfully obstructing the highway in an appearance at Stroud magistrates court.
The 49-year-old, from Llangoven, Monmouthshire, was joined by dozens of supporters for his appearance on Friday (9 February), reports the Ananova website.
Mr Handley was arrested at a demonstration outside the Dairy Crest creamery at Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, on 1 February.
The case was adjourned until 4 April. Mr Handley was given unconditional bail.
FFA demonstrators parked tractors draped with banners criticising Tony Blair and Home Secretary Jack Straw outside the court, reports Ananova.
Mr Handley was voted personality of the year 2000 by FARMERS WEEKLY readers.
