THE high price of oilseed of oilseed rape is failing to tempt farmers into selling the remainder of this years crop, according to the Home-Grown Cereals Authority.

Ex-farm oilseed rape is currently trading at about £180/ tonne – its highest price this season. But farmers are reluctant to sell what little remains of this years crop, say HGCA analysts.

Instead, farmers worried about storage limitations have preferred to forward sell new crop rape at about £158/ tonne, the HGCA reports.
