Hillsdown to postpone sale of poultry business
HILLSDOWN Holdings is understood to have decided to postpone the sale of its poultry business.
The group, which is in the middle of a demerger, is expected to announce that its first-half figures have hit hard by the poor performance of the poultry business.
The division is valued at about £100 million. But the strength of the pound has left it fighting cheap imports from the Continent.
The Ross Breeders poultry breeding business will now be sold off as a separate business. It has an estimated value of £130m.
