Hunt master fined for pollution

A JOINT master of the Beaufort Hunt was fined £6000 after a chemical used to treat foxhounds drained into a river and destroyed a colony of 10,000 crayfish.

Captain Ian Farquhar admitted responsibility for the “devastating pollution”. He allowed it to be washed down the drains after it had been used to treat his 160 hounds for mange.
