Huntmasters ‘damaged van’ of animal rights activist

TWO huntmasters deliberately vandalised a van belonging to an animal rights activist, Mid-Sussex magistrates were told yesterday.

Philip Ghazala and Anthony Sandeman, masters of the Crawley and Horsham Hunt, who were charged with criminal damage, both denied scratching the side of the van and letting down one of the tyres.

Simon Wright, a landscape gardener of Pulborough, West Sussex, said he saw two men by his van at Haywards Heath and as he got closer they drove away in a Land Rover. His partner, Linda Monck, wrote down the registration numbers.

The trial continues.
