Hydraulic advance on Simba harrows

By Ian Marshall

CHANGES to Simba Internat-ionals disc harrow line up for the 1999 season include the introduction of three hydraulically folding models designed for high horsepower tractors.

Working widths of the latest range are 6m, 6.5m and 7m (19.7ft, 21.3ft, 23ft) and all feature hydraulic folding to less than 3m (9.8ft) for transport, when the arms are automatically locked in position.

A simplified axle design is stated to have fewer moving parts to reduce maintenance requirements, and enables all the hydraulic pipes to be included with the central frame, to protect them from damage.

Automatic hydraulic wing lock out is also being offered as an option on the companys existing 4m-6m (13-19.7ft) wide models. The feature will add £1250 to the cost of the implement, bringing the starting price of a 4m version up to £21,000. &#42
