Hydros agriculture income drops 20%

PRESSURE on EU fertiliser prices contributed to a 20% drop in Norsk Hydros income from agriculture over the first half of this year to £112m.

But sales volumes were up, as farmers who had delayed buying before Christmas entered the market. "UK farmers were buying hand-to-mouth all the way through the spring," says Hydo Agris chairman Tony Robinson.
