ICCO raises $17m for freer cocoa market

THE International Cocoa Organisation (ICCO) has raised $17 million for a three-year project to investigate ways of improving cocoa marketing and trade in Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Nigeria.

The money will be used to develop ways of introducing freer cocoa markets without sacrificing quality.

Some of it will go to providing farmers with access to global market information and on ensuring they understand the importance of transparent dealing and contractual integrity.
