Iceland chief defends company jet
ICELAND supermarket chain chairman Malcolm Walker has defended the companys 2 million corporate jet as a “serious business tool”, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Mr Walker, whose company last week launched a 310m agreed bid for grocery wholesaler Booker, said there were no plans to sell the jet following the merger.
Mr Walker claims the jet saves time and money on his trips to see stores and suppliers.
The Telegraph says it is extremely rare for a company in Britain to own a corporate jet.
Iceland shares slipped 0.5p to 236.5p after the Booker bid.
