WINNER of egg quality product of the year in the 1997 National Poultry Meat and Egg Quality Awards is Thames Valley Eggs, Wolverhampton. Penwood Poultry, Norfolk, won the chicken quality product of the year, while Mike Smith, Essex, won the turkey section.

Innovative poultry product of the year – fresh chicken butterfly fillets – came from GW Padley Poultry, Grantham, while best niche market product winner was Kelly Turkey farms for Kelly Bronze Turkeys.
