IN BRIEF

GROWERS joining the NFU-retailer partnerships quality assurance scheme for the horticulture sector face annual membership fees of between £175 and £275, depending on the size of holding and the crops registered. Mark Tinsley, chairman of the partnership, announced on Tuesday that registration for the scheme would begin in October. A self-assessment questionnaire would be followed by independent inspection by Checkmate International, which has the contract to run the scheme.
