uBRITISH beef retail sales increased by more than 8% in volume terms in the year ending Feb 8, compared with the previous 12 months, latest figures from Taylor Nelson AGB reveal.
Customers spent 6% more buying the beef, suggesting a 2% price fall. A fifth more mince was sold, recovering to pre-BSE levels of well over a third of all beef sales. Roasting beef rose by 5% to take 30% of the market. Stewing sales dropped 8%.
