IN BRIEF

&#8226 CATTLE breeders can now buy semen via e-mail from Skipton-based Dairy Daughters. The service includes a semen order form, up-to-date information on individual bulls, linear profiles in graph format and photographic images of daughters. Orders will be taken from their website at least once a day and customers will be invoiced in the traditional way. The site can be accessed on www.dairydaughters.co.uk

&#8226 RISK of staggers can be cut by applying a traditonal 0-24-24 fertiliser which increases sodium and magnesium uptake in grass. Recent commercial trials conducted by Levington Agriculture found rye grass swards dressed with 0-24-24 had almost double the level of sodium and magnesium over rye grass dressed with triple super-phosphate or muriate of potash.
